Drawing upon over four decades of senior financial executive management and consulting experience in the home furnishings industry, Ron formed The Downs Group, LLC in May 2012. With a track record of working with over 100 companies, both privately and publicly-held, at various levels within the corporate structure, The Downs Group provides confidential and expert senior business consulting solutions, investment banking services, operations analysis, and outsourced c-level executive services to the furniture, home furnishings, and related industries.

Ron has extensive experience working with companies of all sizes, ranging from start-ups to $1 billion enterprises. He has helped companies navigate critical issues such as industry consolidation, technology changes, governmental regulations, distribution channel shifts, sales and margin erosion, asset re-deployment, and global strategic alliances. Ron has established long-standing working relationships with auditors, attorneys, bankers, asset-based lenders, factors, brokers, CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, CROs, suppliers, and private equity groups, as well as having an extensive network within the furniture and home furnishings industry.

Prior to launching The Downs Group, LLC, Ron served as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer at Taylor King Furniture, Inc. During his tenure, he played a key role in achieving record-high profitability levels through aggressive actions, including the implementation of excellent business planning and control systems, cost reduction programs, product pricing improvements, and superior asset and risk management achievements. Before his time at Taylor King Furniture, Inc., Ron had his own corporate management and consulting firm.
