Marber Capital is a financial advisory firm that specializes in assisting private companies from post-seed to middle market in preparing for capital raising, both in terms of debt and equity. The company not only helps in executing the raise but also implements or enhances finance infrastructure and risk management procedures to support the growth of the business.

Mr. Berman, the founder of Marber Capital, brings over 25 years of experience in finance to the table. He started his career as an equity analyst covering manufacturers in Japan and later worked on the buy side with the Rockefeller family office, conducting deep-dive fundamental analysis, valuation, and modeling for potential investments. His management experience began in the securities industry, where he led teams covering the telecom and media industries in Japan for Credit Suisse and later grew a research team in Tokyo for Lehman Brothers.

In 2005, Mr. Berman relocated to San Francisco and established Marber Capital to work with private, small to mid-market companies on finance strategy. His expertise spans across multiple industries, including services and manufacturing. He has worked with a diverse range of companies, from small OTC listed parts manufacturers in Japan to the largest telecommunications companies in the world. His engagements in the private world have covered various sectors such as medical devices, agriculture, digital rights management, diagnostic devices, software, outsourced IT services, and manufacturing.

Mr. Berman believes that companies are similar to the human body, as they may appear different on the outside but share similar internal factors that contribute to their health and growth. Risk management is a crucial aspect of every engagement undertaken by Marber Capital. This includes developing IP strategies, reviewing insurance coverage, establishing or reviewing credit lines, assessing labor and supplier contracts, and implementing fraud detection measures, among others.

As a regulated Broker Dealer representative on the Growth Capital Services platform, Mr. Berman operates as an independent regulated professional with a strong focus on adhering to rules and regulations. He has completed the CFA course, obtained the internal control manager (Japan) certification, and successfully passed the Series 79, 62, and 63 exams.

Mr. Berman is an alumnus of Dartmouth College, where he received his education. Dartmouth College is a prestigious Ivy League institution known for its strong academic programs and emphasis on undergraduate education. It is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, and offers a wide range of disciplines and majors for students to pursue.

Chartered Financial Analyst

Mr. Berman has achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The CFA program is a globally recognized professional credential for investment professionals. It covers a broad range of investment topics, including ethics, quantitative methods, economics, financial reporting and analysis, corporate finance, equity investments, fixed income, derivatives, alternative investments, and portfolio management. The CFA designation signifies a high level of expertise and ethical standards in the field of finance.
